Introduction
Cosmetology is a new joint study programme, conducted in English, jointly with the Academy of Cosmetics and Health Care in Warsaw (in Polish Wyższa Szkoła Zawodowa Kosmetyki i Pielęgnacji Zdrowia w Warszawie, hereinafter – WSZKiPZ). This Polish Academy has accumulated a lot of experience in training highly skilled specialists in beauty therapy; it has a particularly highly qualified academic staff and runs productive scientific activities.
A cosmetologist’s activities cover not just a beauty “management.” A cosmetologist is also an artist in his/her profession, who offers a variety of creative solutions to a client. It takes more than a talent for a beauty expert to attract a success. Cosmetologists must have knowledge in various business areas, including communication, human relations, and marketing support. All of that is achieved only when the beauty industry is led by qualified and competent professionals. Such professionals are prepared in the Cosmetology Joint Study Programme. The future beauty therapists will develop tools and techniques to maintain a healthy facial and body skin, to eliminate skin and body defects, to highlight attractive features of the face, to shape the desired image, by employing the latest technologies in cosmetic procedures.
