Introduction
Food: there is no other product in the world that everyone uses and buys daily. Food influences who we are cause political conflicts, but also brings people together. For decades, food has been abundant for many people in this world, yet has not been appreciated thus. In an ever-changing world with a growing population, we will need more food every decade. On the other side: food is something we enjoy together. Something we share and want to make good use of. So ask yourself: do you care about food? Do you want to contribute to a different food system? Do you want to create food products or services in the food business that will make a difference? Opt for the course Food Entrepreneurship.
This one-year Bachelor's programme is offered jointly with the Youth Food Movement (YFM). As a result of this unique collaboration, you will be able to get in touch with interesting companies; furthermore, the YFM will enable you to broaden your scope on agribusiness and its stakeholders.
A food revolution is taking place at this very moment: goodbye to fast food, we welcome good, clean, and fair food. In this urbanizing world, there is a need to reconnect people to their food. As a graduate of Food Entrepreneurship, you can contribute to this change. During this 1-year programme, you will learn how to set up your own (food) business and how to market your product and service. On top of all this, personal coaching will be offered to support you in building a company in line with your dreams, qualities, and values.
The programme aims first and foremost at supporting you to develop your own company or organization. However, as a recognized Bachelor of Business administration, it will also make you an eligible candidate for jobs like:
- Product Developer
- Logistics Manager
- Marketing Manager
- Quality Control
- Entrepreneur
Graduates are entrepreneurial and innovative persons who are used to work in multidisciplinary teams, able to use the abilities to contribute to a food system that can feed the world in a sustainable way.
PROGRAMME JOINTLY WITH YOUTH FOOD MOVEMENT
The Youth Food Movement (YFM) is engaged in good, clean, and fair food. By means of eat-in, the Food Film Festival, talk shows, and the YFM Academy, this movement makes the young conscious of the food choices they make, in a positive and motivating way. Food is often taken for granted, but that is not the way it should be. Contrary to popular belief, food is one of the most complex subjects of our time; it touches all the major social and ecological themes. Contribute, take part. Combine your ideas with science, research, and entrepreneurship.
The programme automatically makes you a member of the Youth Food Movement.
QUALIFICATION
After successfully completing the one-year programme, graduates will receive the Ingenieur degree (bachelor’s honors degree) in Business Administration and Agribusiness.
