The Bachelor of Commerce Global (Honours) majoring in Finance is a unique degree offering the country’s best and brightest students the opportunity to gain a truly global study experience and real-world professional skills.
Finance is about money and investments. People on their own and in partnerships, companies and other entities (including state and federal governments), have a common objective of profitable investment. What is a government-secured bond? What is a share? What are the reasons for investing in either' and when is the right time? These are some of the questions answered in the domain of finance.
This degreeAfter completion of a foundation year at the Wollongong campus covering the core disciplines of business, you will study advanced finance topics. You will then undertake your second year of study at three of the University of Wollongong’s global locations – PSB Academy in Singapore, CCCU in Hong Kong and UOW in Dubai. The third year and fourth, and final year of honors study will be completed at the Wollongong campus. Industry engagement is an integral component of this degree with the opportunity to undertake an internship each year for the first three years of the degree.
What you will study
You will learn the theoretical knowledge and tools demanded by employers in all sections of the world economy: investment, financial markets, financial modeling and portfolio analysis. You will explore corporate finance, including financial strategies, security analysis, and portfolio management. You will also complete an honors thesis and have the opportunity to undertake multiple internships over the course of your studies.

Entry Requirements
Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia.
In order to succeed in your chosen course, it is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications. This is particularly important for degrees which have a strong basis in Mathematics or Science.
