This course includes specializations in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and electronics engineering and mechanical engineering. Emphasis is placed on learning through project work with students being exposed to professional engineering practice through guest lectures by practicing engineers, site visits, and work experience.
CDU engineering courses were developed in consultation with industry representatives. Students graduate with a solid foundation of engineering studies as well as the advantage of an education that is directly aligned with industry requirements.
Admission Requirements
The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) receives and processes applications for admission to Charles Darwin University Higher Education prospective students.

Professional Recognition
Graduates of the Civil, Electrical and Electronics and Mechanical engineering streams are eligible for membership of Engineers Australia at the level of Professional Engineer.
The Chemical engineering stream is designed to meet the requirements for accreditation by Engineers Australia at the level of professional engineer and accreditation is currently being sought. Accreditation of any new engineering specialization occurs in the first year it is offered. Such accreditation is provisional until the course produces its first graduates.

Career opportunities for graduates exist in design and construction, buildings and town planning, new and sustainable forms of energy, digital control, computer control of machines, water supply and treatment, environmental protection, management, marketing and technical advice.
