Making games to develop the future! Games are all around us, both in our daily lives and at the cutting-edge of technology. In the Creative Media and Game Technologies programme (CMGT), offered by Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen, the Netherlands, you will learn how to use these technologies, what can be invented with them, and how to build the future with them by making games. The four year international programme focuses on students who want to dive into the broad, fast-changing field of digital technology.

If you want to achieve a BSc in Human Geography and Planning (Former: Human Geography & Urban and Regional Planning), Groningen is a perfect choice. During the programme, students participate in applied research through product analysis and design. By the time students have completed the programme, they possess a vast amount of technical knowledge plus a broad spectrum of professional skills and entrepreneurial experience.

In the international Bachelor's degree program in Artificial Intelligence, you will study intelligence and develop 'intelligent' and user-friendly products. Our Jazz Programme ‘New York Comes to Groningen’ is unique in the world for two reasons: 1 Fifteen top New York artists travel to Groningen on a rotating schedule. Each week of the year one of them is teaching Monday through Friday. 2 All students (Bachelor and Master) work with all of the NY-artists, irrespective of the student’s instrument. Courses include theory, ear training, composing, arranging and a wide variety of workshops. In addition, there is ongoing weekly instruction from a world class Dutch faculty. All classes are taught in English.

The Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s programme is a three-year programme worth 180 ECTS, and consists of an introductory year and a two-year main phase. Each year is composed of four blocks. Students are taught through theoretical classes and practical labs. Project group work is an intrinsic part of each semester, whereby small groups of students work together on a task. In addition to classroom examinations, designing working prototypes, demonstrations and presentations are crucial to accomplishing each quarter. Special attention will be given to energy-related matters from a mechanical engineering point of view. Students who finish this programme will have direct admission to the European Master in Renewable Energy, which is also offered by Hanze UAS.
