Students will gain practical as well as theoretical knowledge covering all fields of green and new technologies and environmental analysis and monitoring. The students will have a solid understanding of environmental and analytical chemistry, ecology, and process engineering. The course will focus on hands-on laboratory experience and skill-set-based engineering project work.

Green Science tackles global challenges such as climate change, sustainability, circular economy, waste management, soil erosion, and industrial pollution. This unique program allows international students to start their academic careers in the English language while acquiring German language skills to start their professional careers in the Austrian job market.

The department was established in 2010 as Green Energy Science and Technology with a four-year university program. This department is envisioned to develop advanced technologies for energy efficiency with market-sited green energy, and affordable energy systems to match up the demands of engineering skills as well as focusing on solar power, LED devices, bio-fuels, and hydrogen energies, fuel cell and etc. In addition, the department is specially established to aim to improve energy efficiency in end-use sectors and to increase the diversity of energy resources consistent with an economically and environmentally sustainable future.

Bachelor’s programme in Green Energetics is an engineering programme with environmental focus, oriented towards priority areas of energetics – energy efficiency and alternative energy sources with reduced emissions for so-called sustainable development.
