The Bachelor of Social Sciences in Social Work (BSSSW) programme is a helping professional degree that is accredited by the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) to promote human and community well-being, with a commitment to upholding human dignity, social equality, and diversity.

This programme (Year 1 entry) aims to educate degree students to qualify for registered social workers with attributes of being practical and open-minded. This degree also cultivates generalist practitioners in social work, providing services to people with different needs and promoting social development.

We prepare our students to be professionally competent, versatile, adaptive and reflective, helping them to meet the fast-changing needs of society. The programme curriculum is designed to cultivate students’ humanistic values and equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to become competent human service professionals in their chosen fields. Through wide exposure to different domains of knowledge and interdisciplinary issues, students are able to think from different perspectives and solve complex problems in real-life situations.
