Introduction
BESIGN School offers its students a unique opportunity to stand out by specializing as early as their second year of the Bachelor’s program. This option will be pursued in the third year. The students have the chance to immerse themselves in a world of exciting discoveries with three distinct specialization options. At BESIGN School, design education remains comprehensive, but each student has the opportunity to shape their own customized learning journey to achieve their unique goals.
The option in sustainable fashion design encourages students to innovate and rethink the fashion industry and the design of its products. By exploring various materials and manufacturing processes, students are trained to boost their creativity and introduce a new approach to creation that integrates sustainable innovation, technology, and aesthetics.

Curriculum
1st year
This first year of Design studies begins with an immersion into the world of Design: Culture, Design Application Tools, and understanding Design Methodologies. Sketching, Graphic Design, Computer-aided Design (Adobe Suite, Rhino, and Keyshot), mockup building, prototyping, model making and materials, and Theoretical courses in Sustainability and the Circular Economy. Semester two is where the real fun really starts as we can now begin to use some of these newly learned tools within Design projects that will run for the whole semester. – You will begin to see how to connect these tools and apply yourself throughout the whole design process.
2nd year
This second year has three Design projects split across both semesters of the year, you will continue to apply Design tools to develop your skills on increasingly complex projects, and you will continue to be coached and supported by professors specializing in each Design skill (sketching, CAD, development, form-giving)
3rd year
This year marks a transition as there are two major individual projects throughout the year, one each semester. However, the complexity is increased as the initial domain is driven by an introduction to Sociology and Anthropology. These projects are 100% coached, by this point in your studies you should be able to navigate a full design project from immersion and research, through to conception, ideation, and development to prototyping modeling, and communication of the finished solutions. During the first semester of the third year, you may undertake an international experience at one of our partner institutions (fast link to the international page/outgoing students).
