Study Objectives
The primary educational goal of the study is to educate graduates who have both the prerequisites for the development of their own entrepreneurial activity at the level of a small company, and can work in positions responsible for the development of activities related to the entrepreneurial activity of larger enterprises, or with the development of other organizations.
Through the concept of theoretical teaching and the form of practice, the program develops the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills of graduates, which creates the potential for their wide application in the development of all key functions of the company and the creation of business models. The principle of interdisciplinarity is perceived here as the connection of economic and managerial perspectives in business projects. From this point of view, the general social goal of the program can be described as the development of entrepreneurship knowledge in the sense of the basis of the economic and social development of the state's economy and the strengthening of competitiveness at the level of enterprises and the economy.
The aim of the comprehensive building of entrepreneurial competences offered by the program is for graduates to have a deep understanding of the economic, managerial and social contexts of entrepreneurial activity. From the point of view of practical orientation, the fundamental goal of the program is for students to gain real practical experience with entrepreneurial activity already during their studies. The applied teaching approaches are chosen with the aim of achieving the maximum possible efficiency of the educational process, developing the competence of graduates based on the connection of practical training with individual education and group learning.
Graduates of the professionally oriented bachelor's degree program Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development are comprehensively prepared for the implementation of their own entrepreneurial activities not only at the level of sole proprietorships, but also at the level of small and medium-sized enterprises. Graduates will apply in the role of founder, owner and manager of the company. Graduates will find employment not only in family businesses, but in general in all small and medium-sized businesses, including start-up businesses. Graduates will apply both in the business development of companies and in the actual management of this development. Graduates in project management of small businesses and in the development and management of business teams. Graduates can also work in the environment of large companies in positions where they will be able to solve complex projects dealing with the development of products, services and their introduction to the market, innovative development of business activities of a large company. Graduates will find employment in positions responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and business activities of business entities and other organizations.
Program Outcome
A graduate of the bachelor's study program "Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development" has the knowledge and skills needed to start and develop business activities both in the form of a sole proprietorship and in the form of establishing a business. Identifies, creates and evaluates business opportunities in a globalized market environment and can propose ways of using them, including the preparation of an appropriate business plan. He clearly defines global social and economic market influences on business activities and is able to take relevant measures. It applies an analytical approach to finding solutions to problems associated with business activity.
For the management of business activities, the establishment of their own business and its development, the graduate of the program applies procedures for obtaining and organizing all the necessary resources. He is able to define the appropriate business model. Knows, understands, defines and sets the management processes of newly established or developing business entities. He is able to design and apply approaches to securing business activities in a way that corresponds to the current phase of the company's growth. It defines the position of the own company both in the value system of the market and in the socio-economic context of the business environment.
The graduate has experience and skills acquired through own entrepreneurial activity and has experience in applying theoretical concepts and knowledge in a real business environment. The graduate's competence is based both on the experience of working in a team and on the interaction of the team and the company with customers, suppliers, competitors, business partners and other external interest groups.
Within the profile of the graduate, the acquired knowledge, skills and competences can be divided into three groups - professional knowledge, professional skills and general competences. For the area of professional knowledge and professional skills, the disciplines that are developed within them are specified in more detail, and specific outputs are defined for them.

- defines and critically evaluates economic categories, understands and defines the elements of financial management of a business affecting business activities, clearly understands and defines the accounting and tax aspects of business activity.

- identifies a business opportunity, evaluates the potential of business development and cooperation with partners and investors in the domestic market environment as well as in the international context, applies procedures for the introduction and innovation of products on the market both in the area of products and services, applies creative and innovative business approaches based on critical evaluation of options taking into account possible risks at the level of the domestic and international market, applies legal regulations at the level necessary for starting and developing business activities, draws up a business plan including its implementation, defines a business model and its practical implementation, management of the development of business activities in all phases of business development .

- Controls communication at the level of owner and manager of a small business, communication in a team when solving complex projects, knows how to present a business plan to various interest groups, knows how to choose appropriate approaches to negotiation and conflict resolution during communication, clearly presents his positions in internal and external communication, clearly formulates and presents the essence of the tasks that need to be solved, knows how to use tools for online communication in business practice.

A specific group of competences then consists of language competences. Considering the fact that the study program is taught completely in English, all literature used for teaching is also in English. Some specifics of the focus of the program are taken into account, i.e. the area of business and the implementation of business activities in the conditions of the Czech Republic, and the necessary knowledge of, for example, Czech legal regulations is ensured by knowledge of the appropriate English terminology. Language competences are developed in the following areas:
- knowledge: advanced knowledge of professional terminology in the English language;
- skills: developed ability to understand professional texts in English, ability to fluently write professional texts in English, communicate fluently in English;
- skills: preparation and independent management of meetings and negotiations in English, presentations in English.
