Clinton College

Introduction

For over 125 years, Clinton College has fulfilled a necessary mission of educating deserving yet underserved students. Our students have achieved and excelled in scholarship, leadership, and citizenship through a holistic, culturally competent curriculum and caring, committed instructors. Founded by ministers and named in honor of Bishop Isom Caleb Clinton as a school for the descendants of formerly enslaved African Americans, the College's mission has always been to provide a quality, affordable education for the neediest of students. The College has grown and expanded its focus, from a Junior College to a four-year liberal arts college. As we stand today, we are poised to become one of the most innovative small, private, historically Black colleges in the nation. Building on the four pillars of Scholarship, Social Change, Spirituality, and Service, Clinton College is prepared to educate, equip, and empower the next generation of Golden Bears.
