Introduction
The BA (Hons) in Business with a pathway in Law is a three-year full-time program (180 ECTS). This EQF level 6/NFQ level 8 honors degree program is designed for students intending to pursue a business career in areas where a detailed knowledge of the law is useful. As well as providing a solid grounding in business, it focuses on business law and governance providing an understanding of the legal framework within which an organization must operate to ensure that its business activities are compliant with all legal requirements. This program aims to develop skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication to enable students to analyze the legal issues that arise in business and ensure compliance to avoid legal problems from arising.

Curriculum
The BA (Hons) in Business with a pathway in Law is a six-semester, three-year program (180 ECTS) which is designed with an interdisciplinary focus. Courses comprise formative and summative assessment as well as group work and presentations.
This pathway provides students with a comprehensive understanding of business and management concepts, as well as specialist knowledge in laws affecting business, commerce, and employee relations, and corporate law and governance.
Program Structure
In the first year of this honors degree course, students will be given a thorough grounding with core courses in management, organization, marketing, finance, IT, and economics as they relate to business. In the second and third years, they will build on this knowledge to gain an advanced understanding of these key areas, as well as acquire specific knowledge and skills relating to the legal framework within which businesses must operate to be compliant. Their studies culminate in a final year capstone research project.

Compliance Officer
Compliance officers are responsible for developing, implementing, and managing an organization's compliance program to ensure that its business activities meet legal requirements and sector regulations. Their tasks include planning, implementing, and undertaking a risk assessment of current and new operations as well as creating and coordinating reporting channels for compliance. These professionals require legal knowledge and skills in risk assessment.
Purchasing Manager
Purchasing managers are responsible for creating and executing purchasing strategies within an organization. They will source and select vendors, negotiate prices and contractual terms and conditions, make orders, track deliveries, and monitor and forecast future demand levels, among others. Building trust with suppliers and clearly communicating and detailing product technical information is key for success.
The skills required to become a purchasing manager include negotiation, data collection, and analysis as well as leadership.
International Sales Manager
Selling products overseas is the responsibility of international sales managers. In charge of a specific geographical area, they work to optimize their product’s presence, distribution, and sales abroad within budget and to achieve an organization’s objectives. To succeed, these professionals need to have an in-depth understanding of the culture, laws, and market dynamics of the country in which they are selling.
An international sales manager will have strong interpersonal and communication skills for establishing trust with clients. They will be analytical, proactive and detailed in research, and good with numbers. Knowledge of finance and legal framework is needed.
Compliance Specialist
A compliance Specialist is an entry-level position. Usually reporting to a senior compliance officer, these professionals are tasked with ensuring that an organization complies with all legal regulations. They are frequently involved in internal audits carried out to identify business processes or practices which do not comply with legal requirements and must propose solutions and procedures to amend them. They will prepare reports for top management and must be up to date with constantly changing laws.
