Program Outcome
The aim of the Bachelor's degree program in International Tourism Management is to provide you with management and tourism-related qualifications on a scientific basis. After successfully completing your studies, this enables you to take on positions in middle and senior management at tourism service providers and institutions in an international context. To this end, the course of study is based on business and tourism knowledge.
The focus is on developing the following skills:
- Professional competence: You acquire specialist skills through the basic business, management and tourism science subjects as well as in-depth knowledge by choosing modules from the tourism specializations offered, supplemented by a business focus.
- Leadership skills: You will be significantly qualified to carry out leadership and management tasks in the professional field of tourism. To do this, you will acquire basic knowledge of scientific work and the methods of empirical social research. Particularly when preparing term papers, essays and project reports, you will systematically learn to identify a question/problem, analyze it, research relevant information and develop an independent solution using suitable research methods.
- Key qualifications: Communication skills, presentation techniques, team building, conflict management and team leadership are important skills. In order to train you in this, the course uses a broad inventory of didactic methods, ranging from teaching research projects to seminars and lecture series.
- International competence: The study program is an internationally oriented course of study. In addition to the obligatory semester abroad, two compulsory foreign languages (English and Spanish) and the integration of the course into the international tourism network ICNT contribute to this. This is intended to qualify you to take on responsible positions in an international context.
