Introduction
The Hanken Bachelor in Business will consist of a variety of elements that have been designed to ensure that our students are prepared for work life after their studies. We want to give our students the tools to be able to thrive in an ever-changing world and to be able to tackle the challenges we face. The program is a full-time and on-site program.
This Bachelor in Business program is designed to do just that. The program is three years long, 180 ECTS, with the Bachelor in Science (economics and business administration) degree awarded at the end. Also, please note that admission to Hanken's Bachelor in Business means admission to both bachelor's and master's studies. This means that you can choose to continue doing your master's at Hanken right after your bachelor, without any sort of extra application, since the programs are integrated.

Admissions
Scholarships and Funding
Hanken's Scholarship Scheme
- Scholarships are only granted to students who are liable for tuition fees.
- Applying for a scholarship will not affect your application to the degree drogramme.
- The scholarships at Hanken are merit-based. All scholarships are awarded based on the applicant's academic excellence in the previous studies and applicable test score results.
- The amount of scholarships is limited.
- All scholarships require the receiving students to keep a good pace with their studies.
Scholarships - admission phase
Hanken premium waiver
- Tuition fee waiver of 50 % of tuition fee for duration of first degree at Hanken.
- Validity: 3 years
- Selection of recipients: The scholarship is awarded to excellent students based on academic success and/or points in the admission method during the admission stage.
- Requirement during the studies is to complete at least 60 ECTS by the end of each academic year, that is by 31st July, in order for the scholarship to continue the next academic year.
Hanken waiver
- Tuition fee waiver of 25 % of tuition fee for first academic year of enrolment.
- Validity: First academic year of enrolment only.
- Selection of recipients: The Scholarship is awarded to very good students based on academic success and/or points in the admission method in the admission stage.
- Note! The application for scholarships is a integrated part of the application form for admission to Bachelor's degree studies at Hanken, no separate application is needed. Scholarship application will not affect possibility to be admitted.
Admitted applicants who receive a scholarship are informed about the granted scholarship in their personal admission letter and receive additional info on the Scholarship regulations in a scholarship letter.
Scholarships - continuing students
Hanken honor waiver from autumn 2025
- Tuition fee waiver of 25 % of tuition fee for continuing students
- Granted annually (from 2nd year of enrolment onwards)
- Validity: maximum 2 years
- Selection of recipients: All students liable for tuition fees who have completed 60 ECTS during the preceding academic year and applied for the scholarship timely, will be awarded the scholarship.
Note! Continuing students must apply separately for the scholarship for continuing students each Spring semester (first application round 2025). More info will be published here later on.
Curriculum
The Hanken Bachelor in Business will consist of a variety of elements that have been designed to ensure that our students are prepared for work life after their studies. It will be a three-year program with mandatory basic courses and in-depth studies in the selected major. Graduates of the program have the option to continue with master's studies without separate applications. Furthermore, we will require English proficiency and language courses will also be a part of the program.
Hanken's Bachelor in Business program will consist of various elements to help shape the thinkers, leaders, and professionals of tomorrow. During the first study year, everyone will take mandatory basic courses. This ensures a broad understanding of society and business, no matter later specializations. At the end of the first year, everyone will choose a major that will be the specialization for the next years. You can find the majors listed further down on this page.
During the second year of studies, everyone will read courses in their selected major and specialize in that. Minors can also be read during this time. Furthermore, language courses will be an integrated part of the program.
In the last year of the bachelor studies, students will have the opportunity to do an exchange semester or to do an internship. It is also in the third year that the thesis is written. The bachelor thesis is about a subject that fits into the major chosen by the student. After the thesis is done and the degree awarded, the students can continue to master and develop further.
