Introduction
In the context of globalization, not only economics degrees are required today, but also the ability to operate in international management in English. Our International Business and Economics course takes this into account. You will study business administration and economics in Thuringia for five semesters in both German and English. A special feature of the system-accredited course is the integrated semester abroad at one of our 70 partner universities. Abroad, you can attend lectures in English as well as lectures in the national language. Here, our students get to know other cultures and behaviors in management, which are of great importance in their professional careers and which increase job satisfaction. At least half of the elective subjects as well as your bachelor thesis and the colloquium as the last exam for your bachelor’s degree must be completed in English. As part of the elective courses, you will often work in small groups on practical case studies.
Graduates from our competitive degree program find career opportunities in export-oriented and international companies in particular. Alternatively, you can continue your studies in our Master of Business and Economics course, which in Schmalkalden is offered exclusively in English and which in turn includes a semester abroad. In recent years, more than 80 percent of the master’s degree has been attended by foreign students, so that our campus has a very international flair. Our distance learning courses in Sport Management (MBA) and Corporate Management (MA) with occasional presence units in Thuringia are also ideal. Excellent master's graduates have the option of a cooperative doctorate, which is possible at the faculty with our international partner universities.
