Introduction
The main aim of the Physical Geography and Oceanography Bachelor’s degree programme in Physical Geography is to prepare highly qualified geophysical sciences specialists with a focus on phenomena and processes occurring in the oceans, seas, rivers, lakes and other water bodies and in the atmosphere. Also to provide students with an opportunity to acquire integrated competence in the field of geography. The graduates are excellent specialists who are able to work the intellectual and creative work, to create conditions to gain scientific research-based decisions and apply new technologies to achieve the best problem solutions. Students are provided with an advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills; they gain the opportunity of becoming strategists of new technologies. Graduates will also acquire specific knowledge about the modern monitoring of the oceans and seas, marine economic development, international and national environment protection and sustainable development issues, essential components of the global maritime economy, and their geographical characteristics.
