Osaka Gakuin University

Founder Taneo Shirai stated that Osaka Gakuin University shall, through education and research, seek to develop individuals of both practical ability and broad vision, who can serve society at large and contribute to the peace and welfare of humankind. The foresightedness of this idea has been proving itself true amid the current drastic change underway in our society. Osaka Gakuin University's history began in 1940 with the establishment of the Kansai Accounting Institute, the forerunner of Kansai Business College, now the oldest professional accounting school in Osaka.

Today, Osaka Gakuin University comprises the Graduate School’s five graduate institutes (Commerce, Economics, International Studies, Law, and Computer Science), the university’s seven faculties (Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Law, Foreign Languages, International Studies, and Informatics), the Division of Correspondence Study (Faculty of Commerce), Osaka Gakuin Junior College (Department of Business Administration), Osaka Gakuin University High School and AST College (Kansai Business College, Kansai Wellness College, and Kansai Medical College) and is continuing to move steadily ahead while always looking to a new age.
