Option: Cyber Security and Information Assurance
The Cybersecurity and Information Assurance option is based on the National Cybersecurity Workforce Framework provided by DHS and NSA and is the foundation for increasing the size and capability of the U.S. cybersecurity workforce. This option provides students the knowledge and required abilities for performing technical analyses of computer incidents and intrusions to determine the source, infiltration path, mechanism, system modifications, and effects.
Option: Unmanned Aircraft Systems
The Unmanned Aircraft Systems option provides the technological skills to design, build (3D print), and fly a UAV as well as provide the required knowledge to take the FAAPart 107 Pilot’s License Examination. This option additionally provides the education required of one to start and run an independent business (UAS services).
The Unmanned Aircraft Systems degree option comes alongside the annual AeroGames Competition. The drone building and piloting competition for junior high and high school students throughout northeast Oklahoma is hosted by RSU, sponsored by MidAmerica Industrial Park, and powered by Google. For the past seven years RSU capstone students in the Applied Technology program, known as the AeroCats, have mentored the junior high and high school students as they build and pilot their aircraft.
