Tecnológico de Monterrey was founded in 1943 thanks to the vision of Don Eugenio Garza Sada and a group of entrepreneurs who formed a non-profit association called Enseñanza e Investigación Superior, A. C.
Tecnológico de Monterrey is a private, non-profit, independent institution with no political and religious affiliations.
The work of Tecnológico de Monterrey and all its campuses is supported by civil associations made up of numerous groups of outstanding leaders from all over the country who are committed to quality in higher education.
Every year, the board members of these civil associations meet to define the goals that will guide the major decisions which will help Tecnológico de Monterrey to meet its objective of driving the development of communities and the nation.
Tecnológico de Monterrey enjoys the support of the national community, which participates in the raffles organized by the institution itself to expand its scholarship program and investment in infrastructure.
Tecnológico de Monterrey enjoys the status of Free University School, which enables it to function as an educational institution.
Purpose
Tecnológico de Monterrey’s goal is to produce information capable of transforming lives.
We use educational experiences to shape individuals into agents of change willing to work for the benefit of all—individuals who take responsibility for their own lives and are aware that their actions can transform others—capable, talented, upright, committed, involved visionaries with a global perspective and entrepreneurial spirit, not only at the university but in all spheres of their lives.
Our student's education is a vital component of our ability to excel. Students are encouraged to transform their economic, political, environmental, and social realities on a social, professional, and personal level.
Vision
"Leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship for human flourish".
Model Tec21
Tec21 allows the formation of solid and comprehensive skills that will help you creatively and strategically solve the challenges of the present and the future.
Why is it unique?
Our challenge-based learning model is based on four key components:
Challenge-based learning
Student learning during their undergraduate studies is focused on the student's relationship with their teacher and with the environment, in which students develop disciplinary and transversal skills, by solving challenges linked to real problems and demonstrating their mastery through various evidence of learning. In this Model, the central unit of learning is challenged.
Personalization and Flexibility
Before you chose a career, now you choose a path:
1. You will acquire the fundamentals of the area, you will know related careers and you will confirm which career to choose.
2. You will develop the core competencies of your career through more focused challenges while expanding your university experience.
3. You will continue to strengthen skills and give your career your personal touch based on your interests, passions, and plans, through the wide range of concentrations, stays, and certificates available.
Inspirational Teachers
Our professors are protagonists of one of the most profound transformations in Tec's history and of a paradigm shift that has aroused the interest of the national and international academic circles.
What teaching practices distinguish them? They create active learning environments and find in challenges a trigger for the formation of the disciplinary and transversal skills that you require as a student, guiding you to transfer that knowledge to real contexts. In addition, they are up-to-date and linked to their practice and work in a multidisciplinary way.
