Introduction
The principal aim of the Business Studies programme is to provide a contemporary and dynamic programme of study which gives students knowledge, skills, and competencies on subjects relevant to business management, while also giving students a broad perspective. The programme also provides enough specialisation for a career in business. More specifically the aims of the Business Studies programme are:
- the study of organisations, their management, and the changing external environment in which they operate;
- the preparation for, and development of, a career in business and management;
- the enhancement of lifelong learning skills and personal development to contribute to society at large.
Program Outcome
Upon successful completion of the Business Studies programme, students will be able to:
- demonstrate effective communication skills in a business environment;
- understand the importance of culture and diversity in global and local business environments;
- appreciate and understand the ethical implications of business decisions and actions;
- demonstrate proficiency in the use of technology for making sound business decisions;
- demonstrate critical thinking, diagnostic, synthesis, research, and problem-solving skills in making business decisions;
- demonstrate knowledge of group dynamics and interpersonal skills needed to be an effective leader and manager.

Curriculum
Graduation requirements
Students studying towards the BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies is required to take a minimum of 240 ECTS. Eighty-five (85) of the required 240 minimum ECTS come from General Electives and the remaining 155 ECTS come from the student’s chosen field of study.
Honours Degree
Upon graduation, each candidate for an Honours Degree must have:
- completed all the prescribed work of the examination syllabus;
- achieved the required minimum number of ECTS of prescribed course work by completing successfully all core and elective subjects as required by the programme of studies. As a general rule, all students must have:
- successfully completed a minimum of 240 ECTS; and
- secured a GPA of at least 2.00 on courses taken successfully during semesters 5 to 8.
