Curriculum
Study Programme
Tio’s International Business Management study programme gives you a full insight into the global business world, always connected to real-life cases and current trends. More than half of the programme is hands-on, so you’ll gain plenty of practical experience. You’ll take on exciting projects like launching a Dutch product in a foreign market, writing a business plan for your own company, and solving real challenges for existing businesses. Plus, since international experience is a must, you’ll spend part of your studies abroad - whether it’s for an internship, graduation project, or exchange programme!
Projects and practical experience
At Tio, learning by doing is what it’s all about. You’ll jump right in, tackling different study units that give you hands-on experience in the real world. In other words, you’ll start building valuable work experience while you’re still a student!
Programme structure
The programme is structured in a clear and practical way. Each academic year is split into two semesters. You’ll do two internships to explore what suits you best. In your final year, you’ll pick a minor and work on your graduation project, your final thesis. Plus, you’ll complete one of these study components abroad—getting you ready for an international career in international business!

Scholarships and Funding
Tio offers scholarships to foreign students from the European Union (EU /EEA) and to non-European students for its English study programs. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year.
Tio super talent scholarship
The amount of this scholarship is € 11,975 per full-degree student. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year. It is possible to apply for this scholarship every year. You are eligible if you meet the following criteria:
- You must have outstanding study results.
- You must have an IELTS Academic score of 7.0 or higher, a TOEFL iBT score of 100 or higher, a Cambridge exam of CAE-A or higher, or a CEFR C1 level or higher.
Tio talent scholarship
The amount of this scholarship is € 5,987.50 per full-degree student. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year. It is possible to apply for this scholarship every year. You are eligible if you meet the following criteria:
- You must have above-average study results.
- You must have an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 or higher, a TOEFL iBT score of 90 or higher, a Cambridge exam of CAE-B or higher, or a CEFR C1 level or higher.
How to apply for a scholarship
If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, you need to provide Tio with the following information:
- Attach a letter of recommendation in English from your former (secondary) school.
- Attach a legalized copy of all Higher Education qualifications translated into English.
- Attach a legalized copy of recent mark/grade lists translated into English.
- Attach a legalized copy of your English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge exam).
After the deadline of July 1st (September enrolment) or November 1st (January enrolment), you will be informed whether or not the scholarship can be awarded. When awarded, the scholarship is paid out as a discount on your tuition fee. All scholarships are subject to availability and only available for non-Dutch nationality students.
