With 100 years of experience, we are leading the field of higher education in Palestine and the wider Arab world with international-level research and instruction. Additionally, An-Najah uniquely contributes to the economic and societal development of Palestine through a cadre of specialized scientific centers which provide vital services to the community that are otherwise unavailable. We furthermore cultivate a multicultural, pluralistic outlook among our students through a number of initiatives designed to foster cross-cultural dialogue and tolerance. An-Najah National University began as An-Najah Nabulsi School in 1918. In 1941, it became An-Najah College and in 1965 began to offer intermediate university degrees in academic fields that aimed at enhancing the quality of education in Palestine. In 1977, it transformed into An-Najah National University, joining the Association of Arab Universities as a full member in 1978. Today An-Najah is the largest and most prestigious Palestinian university with more than 20,000 students and 1,020 academic personnel spread across five campuses: the New Campus, the Old Campus, Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology, Khadouri Campus in Tulkarem and An-Najah National University Teaching Hospital.
An-Najah is comprised of 12 faculties located throughout the different campuses, offering 87 Bachelor Degree programmes, 23 Intermediate Diploma programmes, 52 Graduate programmes including 3 High Diploma programmes in Medicine and three PhD programmes. In addition to this, the University has libraries located on each of the four campuses containing more than 435,488 books; 180,000 of which are electronic, as well as more than 28,000 scientific journals.
By utilizing the academic body and material resources, An-Najah is able to provide and participate in scientific research at the international level and to respond to the needs of local society by offering support through a plethora of social and technical programmes.

Based on its vision "We Challenge the Present to Shape the Future", An-Najah draws strategies to develop academic links with the Palestinian community and provides its staff and offices with research projects, academic expertise and consulting services.
An- Najah has a leading role in consulting services as it offers more than 1200 academics and research staff members who respond to social needs in engineering and pure, applied, social, agriculture and medical sciences.
In addition, An-Najah has more than 20 scientific centres and units that support academic knowledge and expertise to the government and the public and private sector institutions.
An-Najah aims at pushing the wagon of the Palestinian economy onward, therefore; it builds ties with the local community through carrying out pioneering projects and supporting entrepreneurs by offering them the needed resources and facilities. An-Najah has established several units to support entrepreneurial projects and strengthen relations with the public and private sectors to design joint economic initiatives.
