Milwaukee School of Engineering is a private, non-profit university offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering, business, mathematics and nursing and an intensive English for Academic Purposes program for those looking to improve their English proficiency. At MSOE, you will find a caring community of students and faculty. Together, we are committed to fostering a higher standard of academic programming and research, and personalized service, instruction, and guidance.
Why Choose MSOE?
Students get real-world experience in top-ranked programs, from expert faculty. At graduation, you’ll be prepared to enter some of the most in-demand careers. In fact, in 2014-15, 96% of our graduates got the job or into the graduate school of their choice. There are many reasons why MSOE stands out compared to other highly ranked universities. Here are just a few.
Teaching comes first at MSOE. Every class (which average just 21 students) and lab we offer are taught by seasoned faculty members. There are no teaching assistants here.
Most universities talk about offering hands-on work, but few can match the average of 600 hours of laboratory experience you will get as a student at MSOE. In fact, we have more labs on our campus than classrooms—and they’re all available to undergraduates.
MSOE’s undergraduate engineering programs have been ranked 10th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
Four-Year Graduation Guarantee
MSOE is one of only a handful of universities across the country that guarantees students will get the classes they need to graduate in four years.
Career Placement Rates
Few universities in the country can beat our average placement rate of 96 percent — not to mention graduates’ average starting salary of $56,522.
Location, Location, Location
Living and learning in East Town — our vibrant downtown neighborhood and one of Milwaukee’s most exciting and safest — will place you within steps from professional opportunities, academic, cultural and recreational opportunities. And we’re just blocks from Lake Michigan!
A Place to Fit In
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to get fit, get involved or just get social with like-minded friends who have similar interests. MSOE offers more than 70 academic, professional and social organizations and club and intercollegiate sports.
It’s all about where we came from
Since our founding in 1903, MSOE’s students, faculty, curriculum, and history have continued to evolve. Leaders of business and industry cooperated in the institution’s development, and a close relationship was established that has continued throughout MSOE’s history.
MSOE will always be at the forefront of professional education with an emphasis on both theory and technology, coupled with intensive laboratories and career practice.
